アーティスト・ステイトメント

　私は長年、社会の暗部に目を向け、社会問題への憤りを原動力として描いてきた。虐待や格差、不条理な現実に翻弄される人々の姿を、怒りとともに画面へ刻み込むような制作であった。

　近年は関心が、怒りを超えた先に現れる静かな精神性へと移行している。 対抗や反発ではなく、闇の内部から光の兆しを探ること。それが現在の制作の基調である。 この変化から、白を主題とする作品が生まれた。色彩を削ぎ落とし、白の重なりの中に、時間の気配や沈黙、祈りのようなものを留めようとしている。

　 「光より生まれいづる」シリーズでは、白の奥から新たな形象が立ち現れる。それが何であるのか、私自身にもまだ定かではない。ただ、そこに生成の兆しが息づいているのを感じている。 私にとって白は、崇高性を思考するための場でもある。形なき光としてただ在り、見る者の心を静かに照らすものとなることを願っている。

Artist Statement

For many years, I have taken the hidden and darker dimensions of society as my subject, driven by a deep anger toward social injustice. The suffering of those confronted with abuse, inequality, and irrational realities was fixed onto the canvas as an imprint of that anger.
In recent years, however, my focus has gradually shifted toward a quiet spirituality that lies beyond anger. Rather than opposition or protest, I now search for subtle signs of light within darkness. This attitude forms the basis of my current practice.
From this transformation, several bodies of work centered on white have developed. By reducing color to its limit and constructing layers of white, I attempt to give form to invisible elements — time, atmosphere, silence — allowing them to settle onto the surface of the painting.
In the series From Light, Emergence, new forms arise from within these layers of white. They may suggest the germination of spirituality or the faint presence of being, yet I deliberately resist fixing their meaning. For me, white is also a site through which to contemplate the sublime. It exists like a formless presence, simply there, and I hope it may gently illuminate and resonate within the inner space of those who encounter the work.
